Ryanair Chase 2017 Results

Un De Sceaux was well-backed in the lead-up to the Ryanair Chase, and the Willie Mullins-trained star produced a scintillating display of jumping to storm to victory and duly hand the Mullins and Ruby Walsh pairing a double on the day following on from Yorkhill's win in the JLT Novices' Chase earlier in the afternoon.

Former winner Uxizandre was sent to the front early, but Walsh was unable to keep Un De Sceaux from pulling to the front, and down the back straight he had pulled six lengths clear of his rivals, and with only one slight error, when he stepped off one fence, it was a jumping masterclass.

Turning for home, Walsh was still motionless in the saddle, with his rivals all hard at work, and while he was reeled in slightly by the staying-on Sub Lieutenant, he had too much class for that rival, and won by one-and-a-quarter lengths, with Aso running a blinder in third place.
