A real energy-sapping contest, the National Hunt Chase was the penultimate race on day one of the Cheltenham Festival and it was a highly-competitive betting heat for punters to get stuck into.
Flintham was the early leader, and the order maintained its look for much of the race, with Martello Tower the first to be puled up, while Champers On Ice was another fancied runner that struggled to get into the contest.
Well-backed favourite A Genie Ina Bottle kept an inside berth for most of the contest, but it was Tiger Roll, donning the same Gigginstown House Stud silks, that was travelling the best, and the former Triumph Hurdle winner kicked clear of Edwulf between the last two fences for Lisa O'Neill, and stormed to hand Gordon Elliott a treble on the card.
Huge outsider Missed Approach was nearest to Tiger Roll at the finish, as he was beaten by three lengths, with Haymount completing the placings in a race that saw the Elliott/Gigginstown team star again after Apple's Jade victory earlier in the afternoon.
