Paul Nicholls has been the man to beat in the race with Denman and Kauto Star in his stable but with those horses now out of the frame, we are looking to the likes of Thistlecrack and defending champ, Sizing John who are towards the head of the betting for the race this season
Cheltenham Gold Cup Odds
The 2018 Odds are already starting to shape up with Sizing John one of the fancied horses as the defending champion, Coneygree should also not be ruled out having won the race in 2015 although it will be difficult to regain the race. The new kid on the block could be the classy Thistlecrack who won the World Hurdle and looks every inch a Gold Cup star.
It is thought that the leading trainers will keep the various market leaders apart for the best part of the season where possible, with each horse attempting different path to the showdown in March. We shall keep you updated on their progress as the season unfolds.
