Day 4 - Friday 13th March 2020 - 2.50pm - Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle - Grade 1 - 3m
The Albert Bartlett is for Novice hurdlers who have stamina to burn over three miles and it has grown into a very popular race in recent years since it was introduced to the Festival. Punters can expect to see future stars emerge from this race with many of them going onto the World Hurdle or even the Gold Cup later in their career, as 2011 winner Bobs Worth has shown.
The Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle was added to The Festival in 2005 and provides a valuable opportunity for staying novice hurdlers as it is run over three miles. Initially sponsored by Brit Insurance, it was backed by Albert Bartlett for the first time in 2009, coinciding with its upgrade to Grade One status.
In the recent runnings of the race since it was introduced to the Cheltenham Festival, the Albert Bartlett has grown into one of the key races of the week.
Establishing the form for 3 mile hurdle races is a lot easier than 2 mile races as there is a lot less form to work through and as such find a winner of this race should not be to difficult as is emphasised by the fact that in the four runnings of this race so far no winner has returned in double figures.
