Unowhatimeanharry continued his progression up the staying hurdling ladder as the Harry Fry-trained winning machine recorded his fifth win on the bounce to land the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle, as he fought off the spirited pair of Fagan and Champers On Ice in what was a gruelling climax to the Grade 1 event.
Barters Hill adopted his usual front-running style and he was always a prominent figure alongside Champers On Ice, but as they approached the business end of the race he began to find it tough to keep up the stiff gallop, and your eyes were drawn to 11/1 shot Unowhatimeanharry.
Noel Fehily eased into contention on board a horse that has launched into the limelight this season, and he continued to find for his jockey's urgings and duly went a length clear as they battled up the energy-sapping hill, but he was forced to see out the contest as 33/1 outsider Fagan was eating up the ground late on.
However, that outsider was unable to bridge the gap in the final furlong, and Unowhatimeanharry was handing Fry his first victory as a trainer at the Cheltenham Festival, as he continues to make a name for himself in the National Hunt division.
