The Alan Fleming trained Starluck, second favourite for the Triumph Hurdle is to have a midwinter break before going for the JCB Triumph Hurdle after further enhancing his reputation at Kempton, with an 11 length victory on 27th December. It was his third straight win over hurdles and he looked extremely impressive. Starluck seems to be improving with every run but will not be risked before the juvenile championship at the Cheltenham Festival.
Favourite for the Triumph is the Paul Nicholls trained Zaynar who had been equally as impressive at Newbury on December 18th when he smashed a quality field that included Walkon, rated the best juvenile in the Alan King yard. Currently Zaynar is around the 9/2 mark while after his win, Starluck can be backed at around the 8/.
