Every now and then a horse really manages to capture the imagination of the public and in the form of Thistlecrack we appear to have exactly that on our hands. The World Hurdle winner made his debut over fences at Chepstow on Tuesday afternoon and it is fair to say that social media exploded with reaction.
Connections of the horse have already stated that they would love to run Thistlecrack in the Gold Cup despite the fact he will still be a novice and that has seen every Tom, Dick and Harry come out with an opinion. He didn't beat much on Tuesday but there is no doubt that Thistlecrack made an excellent start over fences with the horse looking like a natural over the bigger obstacles.
Here is how social media saw the action with the great and good of the sport watching and talking about Thistlecrack;
Colin Tizzard suggested after the race that Thistlecrack would now be aimed at the novice chase at the Open Meeting next month on his next step to towards Cheltenham Gold Cup. His price for the big race at the Festival was trimmed after his Chepstow win with most suggesting that 5/1 was too skinny given the early stage of the season.
