The Cheltenham Festival is now a matter of days away and top trainer Nicky Henderson is putting together what looks like a powerful team. The Master of Seven Barrows is just one Festival winner away from equalling the all time record of 40 winners, which is currently held by the legendary Fulke Walwyn. There is no doubt that Henderson will go past that record this season with the team sending a massively strong looking string to Prestbury Park. The first day of the Festival will be a big one for Henderson and Seven Barrows as they get ready to saddle hot favourite Sprinter Sacre in the Arkle Chase. The horse has been the outstanding noivce chaser so far this season and he is an even money favourite at the moment to claim the win on the first day of the meeting. A Sprinter Scare win would be no surprise and would start the week off ina positive fashion for one of the best trainers in the country.
Other potential winners for Nicky Henderson at Cheltenham this year include Long Run in the Gold Cup, Finians Rainbow in the Champions Chase and Binocular in the Champion Hurdle. They are just three Henderson horses who have excellent claims at the Festival and it would be no surprise if the trainer was close to five winners come the end of the week at Cheltenham. The Cheltenham Festival Top Trainer Betting is looking tight at the moment but such is the strength and depth of the Nicky Henderson yard that it is hard to see past him. At his recent media day, Henderson was bullish about the chances of his string with particular focus on Long Run. The 2011 Gold Cup winner has come unstuck twice this season behind Kauto Star but the feeling is that the extra trip at Cheltenham should play into the hands of the Robert Waley-Cohen owned horse.
