Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls has long been associated with some star chasers and the Ditcheat trainer looks to have unearthed another gem in the exciting Kauto Stone. He is the Half-Brother to the legendary Kauto Star and while it is too early to say he could match his achievements it is clear that Kauto Stone is an exciting prospect. He made his British debut when winning the Ladbrokes Chase at Down Royal and he was immediately installed towards the head of the Ryanair Chase Betting for the Cheltenham Festival. Kauto Stone won without ever having to exert himself over the fences and he is sure to improve for the run making him a mouth-watering prospect as we head into the dark days of winter.
Paul Nicholls will of course be delighted to have unearthed another potential chasing star in Kauto Stone with the likes of Kauto Star and Denman coming to the end of their racing career's. It is the time of the season when we are are seeing many potential Cheltenham Festival horses making their seasonal debuts and so far Kauto Stone has been as impressive as any. Like most french imports, Kauto Stone will need to work a little bit on his jumping but even at this stage he could prove a nice bit of value in the Ryanair Chase Betting. He will face some tough competition if he does go down the Ryanair route though with the likes of Albertas Run, Master Minded and Noble Prince all possible opponents according to the latest ante-post prices. Kauto Stone will need to improve to mix it with horses of that calibre but he has made a good start to his British career and at just five he has plenty of exciting years ahead of him.
