No horse has dominated at the Cheltenham Festival in recent years more than Big Bucks and he is back once again in 2012. The Paul Nicholls horse is going for a remarkable fourth straight win in the World Hurdle this season and he is the star name as the latest list of entries are released. At this stage there are 17 runners declared for the big race on Thursday with all eyes on Big Bucks who remains an odds on shot to continue his unbeaten run over the hurdles. He has seen off any number of pretenders to his throne over the past three years and most believe he will do the same this season as he looks to write his name into the record books. Big Bucks has been in good form so far this season with three good wins to his name already and it will be interesting to see if there is a horse in the field who can put it up to the favourite on Thursday.
Punters wanting to oppose Big Bucks in the World Hurdle Betting will have to take a close look at Oscar Whisky who has proven himself a high class horse on his day. At his best, Oscar whisky has finished third in a Champion Hurdle and he really could be anything over the three mile distance which is reflected in his current price. Irish champion Trainer Willie Mullins is likely to be mob handed on race day with no less than six entries to his name at the moment. Mullins is likely to let the likes of Mourad, So Young and Thousand Stars among others take their chance against Big Bucks and his runners are always to be respected. Thousand Stars in particular has top class Grade 1 form to his name and although he has the speed for two miles, he can also stay which makes him a very interesting prospect. The Cheltenham Festival has really benefited from the World Hurdle in recent years with the likes of Baracouda, Inglis Drever and now Big Bucks lighting up the meeting over the past decade.
