It may be early in the new National Hunt season but already we have seen a number of star names in the Novice Hurdle division impress, with the latest of them being the exciting Dare Me. In fact the Phillip Hobbs trained Novice has already been out twice and won twice in fine style on both occasions, he will need to step up in company to prove his class but he looks to be a real prospect looking ahead to the Cheltenham Festival. His latest run was a comfortable win at Exeter in the Totetentofollow Novices Hurdle when an odds on favourite, he travelled in style and jumped well in the main to impress connections and on lookers alike.
Dare Me was back in 6th place in the Champion Bumper at the Festival last season behind Cue Card, he improved further when second at Aintree and now looks to be a real star as a novice hurdler. Dare Me is featuring in both the Supreme Novice Hurdle Odds and the slightly longer in trip Neptune Novices Hurdle at the moment and he could prove a nice each way bet for ante-post punters. He will of course have to improve a lot to match Cue Card who is the hot favourite in both races, but he has hosed up in both races so far this season and it would be no surprise to see him improve further next time out. Connections have said we will see Dare Me step up in class now and that will be the real test for him, another good run will see his prices for both cheltenham races slashed ahead of what could be an exciting winter for Phillip Hobbs.
