Don Cossack has propelled to the head of the betting for the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup, which takes centre stage on Friday afternoon, while Paul Nicholls's Zubayr is now a clear favourite for the JCB Triumph Hurdle which kicks off proceedings, and you can check out the rest of the market movers here.
1:30pm - JCB Triumph Hurdle
Zubayr will aim to emulate his stablemate Zarkandar and follow up his win in the Adonis Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton Park by storming to glory in the JCB Triumph Hurdle, which opens up Friday's card, and Paul Nicholls' charge has been supported this morning and having started as a 5/1 shot is now as short as 4/1 with Sky Bet. Ivanovich Gorbatov has been a prominent figure in the betting for this Grade 1 event for months, but Aidan O'Brien's charge has been friendless in the betting and has eased to 13/2 from 5/1 for the curtain-raiser.
2:10pm - County Hurdle
One of the most competitive betting heats of the entire week the County Hurdle has seen a few horses supported for the 2:10pm contest and Wait For Me has been slashed from 14/1 to 10/1 with various firms, while the Pricewise-tipped Superb Story is aiming to bag Dan Skelton a win, and having been available at 10/1 is now a 7/1 chance with Betfred.
Barters Hill has been a long-term fancy for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle, but Ben Pauling's staying star has drifted all week and is now as big as 5/1 for the second Grade 1 on the card, and that is mainly down to the support for Shantou Village, who is now a 7/2 market leader with Coral for what is a wide open renewal.
3:30pm - Cheltenham Gold Cup
Gordon Elliott's Don Cossack will be aiming to bounce back from a fall in the King George VI Chase two starts ago, but the Irish superstar has been heavily-backed for the Cheltenham Gold Cup at 3:30pm, and having been a 3/1 shot for the showpiece event he is now a 9/4 chance to bound to glory. Cue Card, Djakadam and Don Poli are three major players in the race, but while they have eased slightly they have not drifted too much for what is set to be a stunning contest.
4:50pm - Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle
Squouateur has plummeted in price over the last fortnight and Gordon Elliott's raider continues to attract significant support in the betting, and having been around a 5/1 chance for the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at 4:50pm he is now available at 3/1. With his form being franked yesterday after Mall Dini won the Pertemps Final punters want to be fully behind Elliott's horse who has been one of the most supported runners of the entire festival.
