Presenting Percy can land the 2019 Cheltenham Gold Cup
If you've been following Tom Lee on the Jumps Racing site or via his twitter account @TomsTips you'll know that he is the number one cheerleader of the Presenting Percy fan club so it comes as no surprise at all to see him tipping up the Pat Kelly trained eight year old to win Friday's 2019 Gold Cup.
A general 4/1 chance, 'Percy' has been a talking horse for the Gold Cup ever since his impressive demolition of the RSA Chase field at last year's Cheltenham Festival.
The horse adores Cheltenham, he tore apart the Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle field at the 2017 Festival and comes here as one of the favourites for the big one, despite an unorthodox preparation.
Having been campaigned five times over chase and hurdles last seen on the way to collecting the RSA prize, this season has been very different, with just the one run over hurdles in January.
The prep, or lack of doesn't put off Tom who explains in his video that if anything it makes him even more sure that he'll serve it up to them at Prestbury Park on Friday, fresh and fighting fit.
Tom fears Native River and respects Clan Des Obeaux as Percy's main rivals in the market but wouldn't put you off backing Anibale Fly and Elegant Escape each-way for Friday's blue riband event.
Just the two tips from Tom on day four of the Festival. He's all in on Presenting Percy in the Gold Cup but also fancies the Foxhunters favourite Stand Up And Fight in the 4.10pm. Run over the same course and distance as the Gold Cup, Tom describes the seven year old as 'very promising' and thinks he could give trainer Enda Bolger a fourth win in the race under the ride of expert amateur jock Derek O'Connor. Bet Victor go 9/2 about his chances.
It's been a tough week of punting, but hopefully these two fellas can make it the best of Friday's. Good Luck!
