Cheltenham Festival Hero Presenting Percy Could Be Set For King George Tilt

Presenting Percy Could Make His Seasonal Debut In The King George At Kempton

RSA Chase winner Presenting Percy could be supplemented for the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

The Pat Kelly trained chaser currently stands as the ante-post favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup following a terrific display in the RSA last season but so far we are yet to see the horse run this term.

The Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival is clearly the main aim for a horse who has picked up a cult following over the last two years thanks to his two famous wins at Prestbury Park.

Connections decided to take the 7-year-old out of the John Durkan Chase at the weekend in favour of waiting for softer ground and there now appears to be two options on the table.

The Christmas Chase at Leopardstown would be the most obvious route in Ireland but the owners have suggested that the King George on Boxing Day could be an option, especially if the ground is softer at Kempton.

Should connections wish to send Presenting Percy to Kempton, they will need to pay the £10,000 cost of supplementing the horse but it does now appear as if time is running out for his first run of the campaign and all options are clearly under consideration.

The King George betting is currently being dominated by the likes of Might Bite and Waiting Patiently who are both potential Cheltenham Runners in March but they could be joined by another contender who could be set to set the division alight.
