In what has been a cracking days racing at Cheltenham for the Boylesports meeting, the Boylesports International put more questions to punters than gave them answers as odds on favourite Celestial Halo was beaten by Khyber Kim with Punjabi needing the race coming home in fourth place. Jockey of Khyber Kim, Paddy Brennan, highlighted earlier in the day on Channel 4, that he really fancied his horse for the race, believing that the key to the horse was how he is ridden and he was proved absolutely correct. Khyber Kim has had his odds knocked down by the bookies for the 2010 Champion Hurdle from 50/1 to best priced 12/1.
Next up on the card was Zaynar in the Relkeel Hurdle, yet to be beaten over Hurdles and he went favourite prior to the race as their was no standout performance in the Boylesports International. Going off at odds of one to five he made heavy work of it over the two and half miles. Zaynar only really made it look easy after the final hurdle and even jockey Barry Geraghty when asked about the Champion Hurdle claimed that he had the discussion with Ruby after the Boylesports and even they are confused as to who they think maybe the one to be on come March.
Hopefully we will get some clearer guidance for the race in the new year.
