Celestial Halo could prove to be the main danger to Bug Buck's in the World Hurdle this season after the Paul Nicholls horse was reverted back to the smaller obstacles, much was expected of Celestial Halo as a Novice Chaser but after two poor runs he is heading back over hurdles. He is a horse that has already had a successful hurdling career and was expected to take well to the fences, but he has proven with a fall at Exeter and a poor run at Newbury this season that his future belongs back over the hurdles. Previously we have seen Celestial Halo over the 2 mile Champion Hurdle trip but he could be stepped up to the World Hurdle where he will have to take on stable mate Big Buck's.
The decision to revert Celestial Halo back to Hurdle was made following his poor run in the London Pride Novices Chase at Newbury and he now has an entry to the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot on December 18th. The belief is that he will get the 3 mile trip and the bookmakers have now entered Celestial Halo towards the top of the Ladbrokes World Hurdle betting for Cheltenham in March. He certainly had a good record in the Champion Hurdle having come 2nd in 2009 and 4th in the race last season, it is hoped he will flourish in the World Hurdle and realise the potential many believe he has always possessed. He will have to go some way to match Big Buck's who has proven invincible in this division, but Celestial Halo may well come in for plenty of ante-post each-way money ahead of the 2011 Cheltenham Festival which could prove excellent value.
