The Nicky Henderson yard has been on fire since the turn of the year with a number of big winners and Bobs Worth is the latest to add his name to that list following his excellent win in the Neptune Management Novices Hurdle on Trials day at the weekend. That was his second win over course and distance at Cheltenham and as a result of the way he won Bobs Worth has been cut into favouritism for the Neptune Novices hurdle at the Festival in March. Henderson surprisingly does not have a great record in the race and his form may even have surprised connections this season but he appears to love it around Prestbury Park making him a potential Festival winner. The impressive part of Bobs Worth run was the way he picked up through the line at Cheltenham which can often be the downfall of many good horses, and if he can repeat that at the Festival he is likely to be right in the frame at the business end of the race.
The Novice Hurdle Division is looking highly competitive at the moment with plenty of top class hurdlers looking like being shared between the 2m 5f Neptune Novices Investment Hurdle and the shorter trip of the Supreme Novices Hurdle. Bobs Worth certainly looks likely to go down the Neptune route but he will face some tough competition, not least from Rock On Ruby who was a game second place behind Bobs Worth on Trials day. The favourite for that race before the off was Backspin who has been touted for a massive future for Jonjo O'Neill and A P McCoy but disappointed to only finish fourth, he hung under pressure but should be given a second chance based on some cracking runs this season. The Neptune Novices Hurdle is shaping up to be one of the most exciting races of the 2011 Cheltenham Festival with any number of horses in with a chance of claiming the win, at the moment though it is Bobs Worth who according to the latest show of betting is the one to beat.
