Scottish Champion Hurdle Betting
The Scottish Champion Hurdle is a Grade 2 limited Handicap contest run at Ayr Racecourse each November. It is one of the features races of the Scottish Grand National Meeting and has been won by some legendary horses down the years ensuring that it always has a special place on the calendar in the Spring. Past winners include Comedy of Errors, Night Nurse and Sea Pigeon who famously won the race back in 1978 carrying a remarkable 12st.
It has become rare for Champion Hurdle horses from Cheltenham to head north for the Scottish version but it does still happen on occasion which can make the race a very interesting one indeed given the handicap system.
