Galway Plate Betting

For many, the Galway Plate is the highlight of the summer when it comes to chasing in Ireland as it forms one of the highlights of the entire Galway Festival. The Galway Plate is a serious handicap contest run over a trip of 2m6f  and if recent renewals are anything to go by, it tends to throw up a very nice winner indeed.

There is plenty of prize money in the pit for this race each summer and Road To Riches and Carlingford Lough are just two of the more impressive recent winners who have gone on to bigger and better things. Carlingford Lough in particular has hit the heights at Grade 1 level since his Galway Plate win with his win in the Irish Gold Cup in 2016 confirmation of that.
