Betfair Ascot Chase Odds 2018

The Ascot Chase nearly always proves to be a top class race with Cheltenham in mind as it falls just a matter of weeks before the big Festival. The race in February is run over two miles and five and half furlongs which makes it a good trial race for the Ryanair Chase. In recent years we have seen some of the very best horses run in the Ascot Chase including the great Kauto Star who won here before finishing second in the Gold Cup in 2008.

The distance of the race means that it can also be used as a Gold Cup trial but generally we will see the horses head to the slightly shorter Ryanair Chase at the Festival. Riverside Theatre won the race in 2012 before he went onto to Cheltenham to win the Ryanair which highlights what an important race this one can be.
